    Out of respect for the art works and in order to maintain exhibition safety, please observe the guidelines below to ensure that all visitors have a pleasant viewing experience:

    • Please speak in muted tones and maintain minimum noise levels throughout the NCPI.
    • Please do not touch the exhibited works.
    • Taking photos with an intent to reproduce exhibited works is strictly prohibited. Flash photography is not permitted in the exhibition spaces.
    • Eating, drinking, smoking, or chewing gum or betel nut is prohibited throughout the NCPI.
    • For a schedule of guided tours, or to arrange a special group tour, please refer to Tour or the Information Desk on the first floor.
    • Notetaking by pencil only is permitted in the exhibition areas.
    • Animals, plants, and pets are not allowed (except guide dogs).
    • Dangerous goods are prohibited. A free storage service is available for selfie sticks, tripods, umbrellas, helmets, food and drink, and other items.
    • Wheeled shoes or skateboards, bicycles and hand-propelled tricycles are not permitted.
    • Patrons who are shirtless, in tank tops, flip flogs, slippers, or unkempt clothing will not be admitted.

  • What regular promotional services are available at the NCPI?

    • Scheduled guided tours or special group tours are available.
    • Education promotion activities will be held in conjunction with on-going exhibitions, research, or center developments. These may include lectures, panels, conferences, workshops, or expert guided tours, as well as special events on weekends and over winter and summer vacation. These ad hoc activities will be announced in advance. Please check on our website for information of up-coming special activities.

  • Are there free storage lockers available?

    Free storage lockers are located adjacent to the Information Desk on the first floor. Visitors are reminded to stow selfie sticks, tripods, unretractable umbrellas, food, drink, or other prohibited items for the duration of their visit.

  • Why is the ambient temperature so low, and the lighting dimmed at the NCPI?

    Maintaining minimal light exposure, and a humidity- and temperature-controlled environment is necessary for the protection of exhibited artifacts and works in the venue. We suggest bringing extra clothing for warmth during your visit.

  • Can I use the images on the NCPI website?

    For information on image use and publication authorization, please refer to the “National Center of Photography and Images application procedure for image use and publication authorization”  on the Copyright & Use of Content or Contact Us.
    Where images from the NCPI website are required for academic research, education promotion, publishing, film and television broadcasting, commercial use, or other purposes (for profit or non-profit) such as participation in inter-scholastic website design competitions, etc., prior image authorization from the NCPI must be obtained, with citation and markings indicating NCPI as the source.

  • How can I become a volunteer?

    Anyone over the age of 18 with an interest in photographic art and culture is welcome to join the NCPI team of volunteers. Please refer to Volunteer or the volunteer recruitment page at https://ncopivolunteer.NTMOFA.gov.tw/Volunteer_Join/

  • Can I apply for an internship at the NCPI?

    The NCPI operates under the auspices of the National Taiwan Museum of Fine Arts as entrusted by the Ministry of Culture and does not accept internship applications as an independent entity. Public announcements for internship application submissions will be made by the National Taiwan Museum of Fine Arts.
