Behind the Glamorous

Behind the Glamorous

Constantly challenging himself, Chin’s shooting styles are diverse due to his rich life experience and education in the US at a young age, where he received Western aesthetics training and was exposed to the influence of American photographers. This also makes Chin a unique photographic artist. Whether his works are abstract, realistic, or painterly, he tried to convey his artistic concept and connotation in a profound way. Many works can even convey his humorous and open-minded attitude of towards life as an “old gamin of photography”, allowing the viewer to relate and empathize.

Behind the Glamorous was taken by Chin in the Yinyang Sea of Jinguashi. Generally, the Yinyang Sea would be taken from a commanding vantage point and the color of the sea was photographed. Yet, Chin took his picture right beside the sea in a long shot, presenting the beauty of its colorfulness. However, through this gorgeous work, he explored the pollution of the ocean.
