Lee Ming-tiao had diverse experiences in life. When he was young, he went to Guangzhou to study watercolor paintings at the Lingnan Art Academy. This experience may have affected his strict standard for composition in photographic creation where he integrate his philosophy of art into classical aesthetics. Lee Ming-tiao was exposed to photography at a young age. After graduating from the elementary school, he worked as an apprentice at his uncle Liao Liang-fu’s Dashi Photo Studio. He then headed to Taipei to work at Fuji Photo Studio, where he sharpened his techniques in retouching glass negatives. He has considerable experience in the work of indoor photography, as well as the beautification and retouching of portraits.

In this female nude, one can see a half-length image in profile of a woman against a black background. The composition is neat and symmetrical like a sketch. The soft light shines on the woman with a bright outline drawn on the edge of the body. There is no sharp contrast between light and dark while the woman's posture is symmetrical from top to bottom. With the calm and peaceful expression, her body is static like a statue. The photographer has a clear theme and captures the beauty of an elegant woman in a gentle way.
